Our team is led by Sara, who is a mother of three, proud Katy resident and advocate for the special needs community that is starting her counseling career in the Katy area. Sara started her career in corporate HR, and decided to stay home with her children after struggling to find a good work/life balance. In 2016, after receiving a diagnosis of autism for her daughter, Sara decided to learn all that she could about this diagnosis and what this would mean for her daughter and for her family. Between all the different specialists, Sara and her daughter would find themselves traveling all over Katy/Houston area several days a week, and she knew there had to be an easier way. When Sara started her counseling journey, she had a vision to offer a "one stop shop" for families who need help, and a place for moms, dads, adults, teens, and children to find refuge in a time of need. Sara is proud of all that Mental Health Counseling of Katy has to offer and is passionate in helping people navigate challenges in their relationships and life journeys through counseling. She is very active in the community and is excited to firmly plant her roots in Katy by launching Mental Health Counseling of Katy.

Hola! I want to start by telling you how brave you are to be reaching out for help. A little about me, I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston, Go Coogs! I have also received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria and am a licensed professional counselor associate in the state of Texas. My purpose in life is to help people understand themselves better so that they may heal the parts of themselves they never understood or thought they could. I also have experience working alongside of children as they embark on a journey of discovering themselves and growth. My approach to therapy is centered around you and what is best for you and your journey. Together, we will work towards creating your personal goals and reaching them. More of my specialties include, working through anxiety, depression, life transitions, learning disabilities, couples work, and the latin community. I also provide career counseling for adolescents who are unsure of the path they should follow and adults searching for a career change or something different. As a first-generation daughter, I know the struggles of succeeding in a foreign country and the pressure that comes with it.
