Family Counseling

Family counseling services help families navigate challenges, heal from difficult experiences, and build stronger, more connected relationships that support every family member's growth and well-being. Families are complex systems where each member affects the whole.

We work with families of all configurations to address concerns like communication breakdowns, behavioral issues, major life transitions, blended family adjustments, grief and loss, and the impact of mental health or addiction issues on the family system. Our approach honors each family member's perspective while working toward solutions that benefit everyone.

You can expect family sessions that feel safe for all members to express themselves, improved understanding between family members, better conflict resolution skills, and stronger emotional connections. Families often report feeling more united, having more enjoyable time together, and being better equipped to handle future challenges as a team.

Our approach

IFS

Internal Family Systems recognizes that each family member has different parts of themselves that show up in family interactions, and helps them understand and relate to each other with compassion and curiosity rather than judgment.

EFT

EFT for families focuses on the emotional bonds and attachment patterns within the family system, helping members feel more secure and creating positive cycles of interaction.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works with the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, giving family members practical tools to challenge negative patterns and create positive change.

Common questions

How much does family counseling cost?
$150 – $225 per session, depending on the counselor and session length (90 min). We are a private-pay practice, so payment is due at the time of your session. Fees are subject to change; your counselor will confirm current rates before your first session.
How long is a family counseling session?
90 min. Some counselors offer longer sessions for particular kinds of work; their individual profiles list the sessions they run and what each costs.
Where do you offer family counseling?
In person at our Katy, Sugar Land and Fulshear offices, and by secure video anywhere in Texas. Each location page lists the counselors there who provide it.
Do you accept insurance for family counseling?
We do not bill insurance directly. We provide a superbill after every session, which you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement. Many plans reimburse a substantial share; your own benefits decide how much.
Can I talk to someone before booking family counseling?
Yes. Every counselor offers a free 15-minute consultation call, so you can ask questions and get a sense of fit before committing to a session.
