The short version

This website tells you about Mental Health Counseling Group and lets you get in touch. Reading it does not make you a client, and nothing here is therapy or medical advice. If you are in crisis, this website is not the way to reach help.

This website is not therapy, and not a way to get urgent help

Everything on this site, including articles, assessments, podcast episodes and resources, is general information. It is not a diagnosis, not treatment, and not a substitute for speaking with a licensed professional about your own situation.

Forms and messages sent through this site are not monitored around the clock. If you are in immediate danger, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Do not wait for a reply from us.

Contacting us does not make you a client

Sending an enquiry, booking a consultation or taking an assessment does not create a counselor and client relationship. That begins only when you and a counselor at the practice have agreed to work together and you have completed the paperwork they provide. Until then, please do not send us clinical details you would not want to put in an ordinary email, because email is not a secure channel.

Using this site

You are welcome to read, use and share what is here. Please do not misuse it: no attempting to break into any part of it, no automated scraping that degrades it for other people, no submitting anything false or anyone else's information without their permission, and no using it to send unsolicited or unlawful material.

What is on the site belongs to the practice

The articles, images, recordings, assessments and design here belong to Mental Health Counseling Group or to the people who licensed them to us. You may read and share them, and quote them with credit and a link. Please ask before republishing anything in full or using it commercially. Counselors' names, photographs and credentials are theirs, and not for reuse.

Assessments

The assessments on this site are screening tools, scored in your browser. A score is a starting point for a conversation, not a diagnosis, and no result should be read as telling you whether you do or do not have a condition. What happens to a result you choose to save is covered by our privacy policy.

Appointments, fees and other services

Scheduling and payment happen through the practice's booking system, which has its own terms, and through the agreements your counselor provides. Fees, insurance and cancellation terms are set out where they apply and given to you before care begins. Where those documents and this page differ, those documents govern.

Links to other websites

We link to other organisations where their material is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your information. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

Availability, changes, and the limits of what we promise

We work to keep this site accurate and available, and we correct things when we learn they are wrong. We cannot promise it is always online, free of errors, or current on every point, and clinical information in particular changes. To the extent the law allows, the practice is not liable for loss arising from relying on this website rather than on advice from a professional who knows your situation. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may change this site, or these terms, at any time. If we change the terms we will change the date at the top.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. The practice's services are offered to people in Texas, and this site is not directed at anyone outside the United States.

Questions

Anything about these terms can go through our contact form or to the office nearest you on our locations page. How we handle information is covered separately in our privacy policy.
